The ADA Competitive Program is thoughtfully designed to support dedicated and passionate dancers who are looking to take their training to the next level. We focus on developing strong technical skills while also encouraging a healthy balance between dance and everyday life.

Our program features small, focused team sizes, allowing dancers to receive individualized attention, quality training, and meaningful performance opportunities within a supportive and encouraging team environment.

ADA provides a well-rounded dance education with a strong foundation in ballet and jazz, alongside innovative and contemporary styles. Dancers are given opportunities to grow through examinations, guest faculty classes, specialized workshops, and performance experiences led by industry professionals.

At ADA, we are committed to helping each dancer reach their full potential, not only as performers, but also as confident, disciplined, and well-rounded individuals both inside and outside the studio.

Join the Ancaster Dance Arts Competitive Team and give your dancer the opportunity to grow in technique, confidence, and performance. Our programs are designed for dancers of all ages and levels, offering a positive, supportive, and high-quality competitive dance experience in Ancaster, Ontario.

Whether your child is new to competitive dance or ready to take their training further, we provide structured programs that balance skill development, teamwork, and a love of performing.

Competitive Team Auditions – June 22

Monday, June 22
Pre-registration is required
Ages are based on dancer’s age as of December 31, 2026

  • Ages 3–6: 5:00–5:45 PM

  • Ages 7–9: 6:00–6:45 PM

  • Ages 10+: 7:00–7:45 PM

Auditions are run similarly to a regular dance class and include a warm-up, stretching, and across-the-floor combinations. Dancers are encouraged to come ready to learn, try their best, and have fun in a welcoming environment.

Competitive Dance Programs

Intro to Competitive (Ages 3–4)

Perfect for young dancers starting their competitive journey

  • Training: 1.5 hours per week

  • Schedule: 2 days per week (1 weeknight + Saturday morning)

  • Competitions: 1 routine at 2 local competitions (Hamilton, GTA, Brantford)

Classes Include:

  • Ballet/Jazz Technique (45 min)

  • Creative Movement & Team Choreography (45 min)

Focus on coordination, musicality, confidence, and foundational technique in a fun and nurturing setting.

Part-Time Competitive Teams

Mini Team (Ages 5–6)

  • Training: 3–4.5 hours per week

  • Schedule: 2–3 days per week

  • Competitions: 2 routines at 3 regional competitions

Weekly Training:

  • Ballet Technique & Choreography

  • Jazz Technique & Choreography

Additional Requirement:

  • 1 recreational class (Acro, Tap, or Hip Hop)

  • 10% multi-class discount applied

  • Recital costume fee applies (~$125 + HST)

Petite Team (Ages 7–9)

  • Training: 4.5–6 hours per week

  • Schedule: 2–3 days per week

  • Competitions: 2+ routines at 4 regional competitions

Example Training Includes:

  • Ballet Technique & Choreography

  • Jazz Technique & Choreography

  • Acro Training & Choreography

  • Tap or Lyrical (recreational/competitive options)

Optional Add-Ons:

  • Hip Hop or Musical Theatre

  • 10% multi-class discount

  • Additional recital costume fees apply

Junior / Intermediate / Senior Teams (Ages 10+)

  • Training: 2–6 hours per week

  • Schedule: 1–3 days per week

  • Competitions: 1–2+ routines at 4 regional competitions

Flexible Training Options:

Option 1 – Single Style (e.g., Competitive Jazz)

  • Jazz Technique (60 min)

  • Choreography (30 min)

  • Conditioning / Acro (45 min)

Option 2 – Multiple Styles (e.g., Hip Hop + Jazz)

  • Multi-day training across styles

  • Technique + choreography in each style

  • Conditioning and cross-training included
